Frequently asked questions
Here are answers to some common questions about pricing, website projects, and ongoing care.
If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me.
“Starting at” is the base price for a website with the scope described. Your final price will depend on the size and requirements of your website, along with any additional services you choose.
Before work begins, we’ll agree on the project scope and price. Everything included in your project will be clearly defined in a contract we both sign.
The Essential website is a focused five-page site for businesses and professionals who need a strong web presence without a large amount of content. It gives potential clients the information they need to understand what you do, learn about your business, and take the next step—whether that’s making a phone call, filling out a form, or booking a consultation.
An Expanded website is better suited to businesses with more to communicate. You may need dedicated pages for individual services, locations, case studies, team members, a portfolio, a blog, or other content. Dedicated pages can also give search engines more specific information about your services and provide more opportunities for people to find relevant content through search.
It depends on how much you need to communicate. A five-page informational website might include a Home page, About page, Services page, Portfolio or Client Stories page, and Contact page. For a business with straightforward needs, that may be plenty.
A larger business or practice may benefit from dedicated pages for individual services, locations or service areas, team members, case studies, or other important information. You may also want a blog, appointment booking, testimonials, awards, press coverage, or other content.
I recommend structuring your website around the amount of content your business actually needs rather than trying to fit everything into a predetermined number of pages.
We’ll start with a website questionnaire covering the basics of your business, your audience, and what you want your website to accomplish.
You’ll provide the content and materials needed for your website. Depending on your project, that may include service or product descriptions, pricing or packages, testimonials, case studies, frequently asked questions, staff biographies, photographs, logos, and other graphics or media. Existing brochures and marketing materials can also be helpful.
For logos and graphics, editable vector files are preferred when available. Photographs should be provided at the highest resolution available.
If you need stock photography, I can recommend stock libraries. If you’d like me to source images licensed for commercial use or create graphics for your website, I can provide a separate estimate.
No. Ongoing care is an optional add-on service. You can host your website with me, and I’ll handle maintenance along with minor content and styling updates.
Or, once your website is complete, I can move it to your own hosting provider, where you can manage updates yourself or hire another web professional to handle maintenance.
Ongoing care includes hosting your website along with the routine technical work needed to keep it running smoothly. I’ll handle WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates; security monitoring and backups; and monitoring your website for availability.
It also includes minor updates to your existing website, such as text or image swaps and small styling adjustments needed to maintain the implementation.
Larger changes — such as redesigning layouts, creating substantial new content, or adding new functionality — aren’t included in the monthly plan. If you need something beyond ongoing care, I can provide a separate estimate.
Yes. You aren’t required to host your website with me. If you prefer to use your own hosting provider, I can prepare and transfer the completed WordPress website for your hosting account.
After the transfer, you can manage the website yourself or work with another web professional for ongoing maintenance.
Once your website is complete, you’ll receive a walkthrough video showing you how to make basic content updates and upload media to your website.
If you choose ongoing care, minor content and styling updates are included in your monthly plan. If you need something larger — such as a new page layout, additional functionality, or a more substantial change — contact me and I can provide an estimate for the additional work.
Let’s build something.
Tell me about your work, what you need help with, and where you’re starting. Share as much or as little as you’d like.
I’ll review the details and reach out personally.
